 New officers were installed, a Rotary Foundation Benefactor was recognized and our Rotarian of the Year was awarded at our annual Club Picnic at Sen. Robert Morgan's home on Thursday, June 24, 2010.
New Club President, Karen Kratz, Secretary, Cameron Barr, and Treasurer, Ronald Jaynes were sworn in as the new 2010-2011 Club Officers. Absent was new Club Incoming-President, Jason Wunsch (who will be sworn in July 1st).
Ann Hood, Honorary Member and wife of member Glenn Hood was surprised (and Glenn was too!) when President Bill Hobbs presented her with Rotarian of the Year. Ann has been an instrumental volunteer for our annual fund-raiser, the Cornelius Harnett Gala. She has also participated in other club events and has been ready and willing to help in all facets of the clubs activities. Congrats Ann!
Also recognized was our second Rotary Foundation Benefactor, Karen Kratz. She was presented a pin, pendent and crystal statue by Glenn Hood, our districts' Foundation Chair.
We were thrilled to host four of our scholarship winners and their families too. Catering by Howard's Barbecue was a delicious affair, and despite the heat, a good time was had by all.

On Thursday, July 1, 2010, Angela Brown received her Paul Harris Fellowship. Glenn Hood did the honors of presenting Angela with her pin and papers. This has been a long time coming as Angela missed out on the original presentations last year! Congratulations Angela!
Helaine Moesner, one of our newest members, became a Paul Harris Fellow on June 10, 2010. Helaine has been one of our more enthusiastic volunteers. Unfortunately she will be leaving us for a bit while she is stationed over in Korea for the next year (or two?). She will remain a member of our club however, and will take the goodwill of our club, plus some of our club's banners, with her in her travels to share with other Rotary clubs around the world.
