eventsOur main fundraising event is the annual Cornelius Harnett Charity Gala held in the spring. The Gala, recognized as the foremost social evening in the area, has continued to grow year by year, and is a significant source of funds for the Club's many projects.The club also used to hold The Rotary Club of Lillington Parent-Child Golf Tournament at Keith Hills Country Club in Lillington each year to help raise enough money to provide college scholarships, however, the Cornelius Harnett Charity Gala has been such a success that it has taken over all fundraising events for the Club. |
The cornelius harnett charity gala Held each year in the Spring, the Cornelius Harnett Charity Gala is the Rotary Club of Lillington's largest fund-raising event.
In the past the Gala was held at local school gyms or cafeterias, but in 2008 it was moved to the Government Commons Center with this new venue proving to be the best in recent years.
Tickets to the Gala generally go on sale starting just before Christmas. Sponsorships are welcome and our sponsors are generously rewarded with lots of advertising during and after the event. |
Caterers serve up a sumptuous buffet with
phenomenal finger foods, and the guests are entertained with music and dancing with a live big band orchestra. Selected music from an iPod is used between the band's sets, so there is full-time dancing for all!
