President Karen Kratz donating $100 from Lillington Rotary Club to Hensley Scott for the Boys & Girls Home of NC.

The Boys & Girls Home of North Carolina located at Waccamaw Lake has a cottage that Rotary District 7710 supports. Each year Rotarians from our District are invited to visit the home, see the cottage and visit with the kids.

The home offers cottage-style living in a one-of-a-kind educational environment. Their 140-acre campus is lined with a vibrant pecan orchard and home to a working farm, all situated in the heart of Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina – the largest natural lake in the state.

While at B&GH, youth are taught to develop and use their strengths in positive ways; they learn conflict resolution, time management and much more. It’s a way of life that builds self-esteem, responsibility, character.

Hensley Scott, who is a former resident of the Boys & Girls Home, is also a Rotarian, and he visited us recently to tell us about the home and its programs.

The home is always in need of donations, and the Rotary Club of Lillington is an annual contributor. This year we contributed $100. If you’d like to provide a donation, you can do so through their website here:  http://www.boysandgirlshomes.org/.
