Lillington Christmas Parade 2011

Merry Christmas from Rotary!

The Rotary Club of Lillington was represented in the annual Lillington Christmas Parade this year. The parade included several high school bands, two Sudan mini-car groups, horse and buggies, floats galore, and of course, old St. Nick himself!

On Friday, December 2, 2011, Will McCormick asked his grandfather to drive him to the Western Harnett distribution site to pick up insert sacks for the back packs and deliver them to Lillington Shawtown School.  In the photo at the top left, Will has just picked up a stack of two baskets for return to the distribution center.  The photo on the top right shows Will delivering the baskets to the distribution center.  In the middle row, he is shown meeting Robert Doberstein founder and Chairman of Buddy Backpacks in Harnett County.  On the right side of the middle row, Will is shown on the production line, helping pack the plastic inserts with food for children at Lillington Shawtown School for use on the weekend.  He arrives at the school with 26 inserts filled with healthy food for the students and delivers them to the staff.
