Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Fifteen Lillington Rotarians took time out of their busy days to volunteere to ring the bell for the Salvation Army at Carlie C’s IGA Grocery Store again this year. After being turned down by a large grocery chain two years ago, our Club approached Trent Smith, Manager of Carlie C’s with the idea of bell ringing at his location. Mr. Smith welcomed the Salvation Army fund raiser with open arms.
“In our first year up there (at Carlie C’s) we made more money on bell ringing on just Saturday over four weekends than we ever did at our old location bell ringing two days each weekend for four weekends.”, reports Club Treasurer, Ronnie Faulkner.
And even though the numbers are not back yet on how much we raised this year, something was going right because we had to replace the kettle in the middle of the day on our second weekend!
The generousity of the people who frequent Carlie C’s is incredible. We want to thank them for giving from their hearts to a cause that touches lives all across our nation. And a big thank you goes out to Trent Smith for supporting our Club’s efforts to help the Salvation Army during this holiday season.
